Selamlaşma ve Tanışma Kalıpları
Greetings (Selamlaşma)
This is how you say hello to people. The way you greet someone often depends on the situation—is it formal or informal?
Formal Greetings (Resmi Selamlaşmalar)
You use these in professional settings, with people you don't know well, or with elders.
Hello. (Merhaba.)
Good morning. (Günaydın.)
Good afternoon. (Tünaydın/İyi günler.)
Good evening. (İyi akşamlar.)
How do you do? (Nasılsınız? - Very formal.)
When someone asks "How do you do?", the classic response is to say "How do you do?" back. It's not a question you're expected to answer in detail.
Informal Greetings (Günlük Selamlaşmalar)
These are for friends, family, and people your age. They are more relaxed and common in everyday life.
Hi. (Selam.)
Hey. (Hey.)
What's up? (Naber?)
How's it going? (Nasıl gidiyor?)
How are things? (İşler nasıl?)
When someone says "What's up?", you can respond with "Not much." or "Nothing much." (Önemli bir şey yok.) Or you can just say "Hey." back.
Introductions (Tanışma)
This is what you say when you meet someone for the first time.
Introducing Yourself (Kendini Tanıtma)
My name is [Your Name]. (Benim adım [Adınız].)
I'm [Your Name]. (Ben [Adınız].)
Nice to meet you. (Tanıştığımıza memnun oldum.)
Pleased to meet you. (Tanıştığımıza memnun oldum. - More formal.)
After you say "Nice to meet you," the other person will often say "Nice to meet you too." (Ben de tanıştığıma memnun oldum.)
Asking Someone's Name (Birinin Adını Sorma)
What's your name? (Adınız ne?)
Putting It All Together (Hepsini Birleştirelim)
Here are some sample conversations to show you how these phrases work in real life.
Scenario 1: Formal Conversation (Resmi Ortamda)
A: Good morning. My name is John Smith.
B: Good morning, Mr. Smith. I'm Jane Miller. Nice to meet you.
A: Nice to meet you too, Ms. Miller.
Scenario 2: Informal Conversation (Günlük Ortamda)
A: Hi, I'm Alex. What's your name?
B: I'm Sarah. Hey, Alex!
A: Nice to meet you, Sarah.
B: You too.
Farewells (Vedalaşma)
Just as important as greetings, here's how you say goodbye.
Goodbye. (Güle güle.)
Bye. (Güle güle. - Informal.)
See you later. (Sonra görüşürüz.)
Take care. (Kendine iyi bak.)
Have a good day/evening. (İyi günler/akşamlar.)
